Memories of Dust

‘Memories of Dust’ is a long-term photography project exploring traditional masculinity in my home state of Texas. I examine the cowboy, a classic male icon shaped by visual media, and its influence in a fast-changing society. The project started in 2024 and is ongoing.
An audio artwork is available as a support to the photographic series. The piece is composed of field recordings and conversations with ranchers, scholars, and artists, about the myth of the cowboy and maleness in Texas.
